Arlington Home Service's Green Home Program Everyone wants to live in greater harmony with the environment. With all of the exaggerated and misleading claims out there about what products are “green” and what it takes to live in a more environmentally friendly way, it’s easy to become confused and more than a little skeptical.
Arlington Home Service already incorporates several environmentally friendly tasks that are part of its service plans, but we wanted to go a step further. That’s why we’ve decided to offer our clients, a series of projects that are proven to make a positive difference in how their homes use energy.
When our homes use less gas and electricity, as well as, pump less carbon monoxide into the atmosphere, it not only helps the environment, it also helps our bottom line.
(*Homeowners Tip: Unplug any electrical component when you are finished using it. The toaster, blender, even the microwave, if you can reach the plug, turn off the power to your computer and TV at the power strip and unplug the lamps and clock radios in the guest rooms. Even though these items may be “off” they still draw electricity, studies indicate that this, “Vampire Power” in an average home, can add up to 40% of its monthly electrical usage!)
The following is a list of projects we offer, all of which help to reduce our client’s utility costs:
ü Installation of a hot water heater insulating wrap;
ü Proper insulation and sealing of door\hatch to attic;
ü Addition of attic insulation to ensure proper depth and placement;
ü Addition of crawl space insulation to ensure proper placement;
ü Installation of a programmable thermostat;
ü Replacement of all interior bulbs with high efficiency fluorescent bulbs and exterior bulbs with L.E.D. bulbs;
ü Installation of high efficiency showerhead(s)
ü Installation of a “rain barrel” system for irrigation purposes.
To help the environment in general, we offer:
ü Installation of a “
ü Helping to have your backyard certified as a “Wildlife Habitat” by the National Wildlife Federation.
ü Hauling all of your recyclable products to the proper drop off points.
